Freshmen Welcome Program 2010--Formal Event

The formal event of the FWP serves as a platform for the incoming students and parents to communicate with the current Singaporean students in the University of Michigan. The event includes a presentation by current students, a question and answer session chaired by senior members of the U of M Singapore Students Association, and a short reception where high tea will be provided and also allow for further interactions between income and current students.

Topics of presentation includes documentation, travelling details, accomodation, weather, food and many other topics that may be of concern to students and parents. All incoming students and parents are highly encouraged to attend the formal event.

The event time and location is as follows:

Date:        25th July 2010, Sunday

Location: Imagination Room, National Library Building
                 100 Victoria Street, S(188064)

Time:        1400 - 1700 Hrs

Attire is smart casual.

The informal even of the FWP serves as a bridge between the incoming and current Singaporean sudents of the University of Michigan. Its aim is to introduce to the new students their fellow peers who will be studying with them for the next three or four years. It also aims to introduce current students to the incoming students, who will be able to lend them a helping when and if they run into any difficulities in the University. Incoming students will also be able to interact with current students and have a chance to understand first-hand what life in U of M will be like.

Activities include games and a barberque session. We hope that students are able to interact better under these informal settings and get to know one another more easily. Incoming students are encouraged to attend both this event and the formal event. Details for the informal event is as follows:
